Subaru Forester Performance

All Forester models get a capable and efficient 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. Of course it's the standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive that really stands out, which helps you get around Elgin and beyond during the roughest winter weather and when you're headed off the beaten path. Even with standard AWD in place, the Forester is one of the more efficient SUVs of its class, earning up to 33 mpg on the highway.

Subaru Forester Technology

Like the other new Subaru models found here in Elgin, the latest Forester editions are well-equipped with smart technology. You start off with the usual set of infotainment features, centered around an easy-to-use touchscreen with smartphone integration systems in the standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps. Use these standard features to access music, podcasts, audio books and other entertainment features, while you'll also be able to place and take calls safely without being distracted while you drive in your new Subaru Forester.

Subaru Forester Safety

Beyond the usual safety features like airbags and a smart construction in its body, the new Subaru Forester comes with some high-end technology for added levels of confidence. With the standard Subaru EyeSight suite, you'll get features like forward-collision mitigation, lane-keeping assist and departure warning and adaptive cruise control.

Subaru Forester Trim Levels

The 2021 Subaru Forester brings you a reliable mid-size SUV with sporty design details, a powerful engine, and many standard safety features.  Each trim builds on the one before in capability and features.  Here is a look at what you can expect from each trim level in the 2021 Forester.

Forester (Base)

The latest Subaru Forester uses the StarLink multimedia system-which is headed by a 6.5-inch touchscreen-for infotainment integration. StarLink combines four speakers, an AM/FM radio tuner with HD Radio, a single-disc CD player, Bluetooth hands-free phone calling and audio streaming, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration, two USB ports and an audio jack for playing media from portable devices, and trial subscriptions to SiriusXM Radio and SiriusXM Travel Link.

For driver safety aid, Subaru provides the EyeSight suite, which consists of Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-collision Braking and Throttle Management, Lane Departure Warning, Sway Warning, and Lane Centering Assist.

Also standard for driver assistance is a rearview camera and seven airbags.

Forester Premium

At the Premium trim level, the Forester's seating accommodations are enhanced with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and 10-way power adjustability on the driver's seat. StarLink is boosted with two additional speakers and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Access and engine starting is more convenient with the addition of proximity keyless entry and push-button engine start.

Forester Sport

As for the racing-style trim, the Sport is the only Forester model with sport front seats with orange contrast stitching. At this trim level, Subaru adds two charging-only USB ports in the rear and replaces the monochromatic multifunction display with a colored one.

Driver assistance is enhanced with the addition of Automatic High Beams, Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear-Cross Traffic Alert, and Lane Change Assist.

Forester Limited

Convenience is the focus of the Limited trim level. Cloth seat trim is replaced by leather. An eight-inch touchscreen replaces the 6.5-inch one. The liftgate gains power operation, and a dual-zone automatic climate control system introduces climate controls on the passenger side.

Forester Touring

As the top-level trim, the Touring is the only model with rear-seat heating, steering-wheel heating, eight-way power adjustability on the front passenger seat, a trial subscription to SiriusXM Traffic, a navigation system, a nine-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, reverse automatic braking, and a distraction mitigation system.
