The new Subaru Forester Wilderness is an off-road-ready trim level that adds in a smattering of versatile performance features to help Elgin area drivers take on even more adventures and roads with confidence. The Subaru Forester retains is sporty, compact styling but adds in some off-road flair with the all-new Wilderness trim. The Subaru Forester Wilderness trim gets a special coil-spring suspension that increased ground clearance from 8.7-inches to 9.2-inches. The Subaru Forester Wilderness trim also gains a specially-tuned transmission that enables more torque in the rev range, helping to increase traction on slippery surfaces and inclined grades. Other notable additions include LED foglights, matte black anti-glare decal on the hood, a front-facing camera, and additional protective plastic cladding on the fenders and bumpers. Powering the Forester Wilderness trim is the same engine that comes with all the latest Forester models, which is a 2.5-liter flat-4 engine that makes 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. The Forester Wilderness trim also includes underbody skidplates to provide protection during those rugged exchanges with great outdoors and the SUV. The Wilderness also gains exclusive 17-inch wheels, water-resistant seating surfaces, and a roof rack. Notable upgrades available with the Wilderness include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with an integrated navigation system, a premium sound system, and a power liftgate.
