So far this year, Subaru has eight Top Safety Pick (TSP) ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), with six of the automaker's nameplates garnering the institute's highest Top Safety Pick+ (TSP+) award. The IIHS reserves Top Safety Pick designations for vehicles that earn the highest possible score of "Good" for all six crashworthiness evaluations. Vehicles must also include a frontal collision mitigation system that scores "Advanced" or "Superior," as well as have available headlights rated "Good" or "Acceptable." To achieve TSP+, a vehicle must also come standard with a "Good" headlight rating.
