Air Temperature Calibration

An a/c unit should be calibrated accordingly to work properly in different weather conditions. For example, the average vehicle a/c should not be charged above a certain level unless temperatures can be expected to exceed 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Cars and trucks made before 1994 require a specific type of refrigerant. Using a charging hose and gauge, we will charge your a/c according to the pressure indicated on the model-appropriate refrigerant packaging.

Locating the Correct Service Port

Most modern Subarus feature a convenient service port for the a/c system. The location is different on each vehicle, and are often not shown in the owner's manual. In most cars, it is located between the compressor and the condenser.

Pre-Charging Cleaning

One of the biggest mistakes novice mechanics make, is to service an a/c without first cleaning the relevant areas fully. One of the surest ways to damage an a/c system is to let dust, dirt, and debris get into the internal workings. This is sure to save you time and money down the road.

Connecting the Charging Hose to Add Refrigerant

Unfortunately, charging hoses and connectors tend to be made to require special tools for proper fitment. Adding refrigerant requires special care. The owner's manual will help, but mistakes are costly. Once the correct pressure has been obtained, the hose can be removed. Accurate gauge reading is necessary to complete this step. Removing the charge hose can be a bit tricky once the system has been pressurized.
